During a New Year's Eve dinner with friends, Tai and his friends buy lottery tickets. Neither Tai nor Tinh remember the existence of the lottery ticket.

Tai's younger brother, Toan, overhears a lottery ticket seller looking for the winner of the ticket sold that day. Toan, curious, investigates and discovers that no one else won except Tai. Toan begins to secretly track Tai and the missing lottery ticket. Eventually, Tai and Tinh become aware of the situation, and the family joins forces to find the lost lottery ticket. Tinh recalls placing the lottery ticket in the jar, but it goes missing during house cleaning. Suspicions arise among neighbors, between husband and wife, and even towards Toan.

Just when everyone is about to give up hope, they discover that Tai and Tinh's son, Baby Hy, has been holding onto the lottery ticket. The family celebrates a memorable Tet holiday together.
